Rockaway Township will hold a free, stand-alone Tai Chi Qigong session on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 7 to 8 p.m. in the municipal courtroom at 65 Mount Hope Road.
The Township’s current event listing says registration is not required and walk-ins are welcome. Attendance is limited to 50 people. Residents who want to register or confirm space can call the Rockaway Township Division of Health at 973-983-2848. The event page lists the courtroom as accessible under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The one-hour session is part of the Township’s Mayor’s Wellness Campaign and is billed as Moving for Better Balance. Tai chi combines slow, gentle movements and physical postures with focused attention and controlled breathing, according to the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention identifies tai chi as one example of exercise that can strengthen the legs and improve balance.
Admission is free, and the official listing shows no cancellation, postponement or sold-out notice as of September 8. No ticket purchase is required.
