The Rockaway Township Board of Education has named Edwin Camacho as the new vice principal of Copeland Middle School, adding a leader to the building just weeks before students return for the new school year.

The board unanimously approved Camacho’s appointment at its meeting on July 13, 2026, and the role took effect the week of August 3. He steps in as the Rockaway Township School District, in Morris County, prepares for the 2026-2027 school year.

Copeland Middle School is the district’s only middle school and serves students in grades 6 through 8. Rockaway Township also operates five elementary schools: Birchwood, Catherine A. Dwyer, Katharine D. Malone, Stony Brook, and Dennis B. O’Brien.

District officials shared the news with the Copeland Middle School community through a welcome letter posted to the district website, describing the appointment as part of the leadership team that will guide the school in the year ahead.

The move is one of several administrative updates the Rockaway Township School District has announced this summer.

Rockaway Township families with questions can reach the district office at (973) 627-8200.
