Rockaway Township will host a free emergency preparedness program at the Rockaway Township Senior Center on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The senior center is located at 19 Mount Hope Road in Rockaway, Morris County.

The session, called Plan, Prepare, Succeed, is presented by occupational therapy students from Seton Hall University. It is built to help residents think through how to stay safe and ready before an emergency happens.

The program runs one hour and is free and open to the public. Residents who want more information can call the senior center at 973-983-2848.

The Mount Hope Road senior center hosts a regular slate of community sessions for Rockaway Township residents. Another free offering, a Tai Chi Qigong session, is also set for the evening of June 18, 2026.

For ongoing safety updates, Rockaway Township residents can sign up for the township’s emergency notification system, which sends residents alerts about emergencies and important local updates. Residents can register through the township’s Emergency Notification Registration page.
