Rockaway Borough and Rockaway Township municipal offices will be closed Monday, September 7, 2026, for Labor Day. Morris County offices will also be closed for the holiday.
The Borough of Rockaway lists Labor Day on its 2026 holiday schedule and states that both municipal and court offices will be closed. The Borough offices at 1 East Main Street normally operate weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Rockaway Township lists its Municipal Building as closed all day September 7 on the official Township calendar. The building at 65 Mount Hope Road normally operates Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Morris County also posted that county offices will close September 7 in observance of Labor Day.
Residents who need in-person help with municipal, court, or county business should plan around the closures and check the appropriate government website for department-specific information before visiting. Residents should also confirm department hours before making a trip after the holiday.
