Add as a preferred sourceRockaway Township will host an educational program, Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia, on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2026, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Rockaway Township Senior Center, 19 Mount Hope Road.
According to the Township’s event listing, the session will cover the difference between Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, the stages and risk factors of Alzheimer’s, current treatments, and available resources.
The program is a hybrid session, so people can attend in person or join online through Zoom. Separate registration links for in-person and Zoom attendance are posted on the event’s page on the Rockaway Township community calendar, and both sign-ups run through the Alzheimer’s Association.
Questions about Township programs can go to the municipal building at 973-627-7200, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The talk is one of several health and wellness programs on the Township calendar this fall. A Medicare open enrollment session is set for Thursday, Oct. 22, at 11 a.m., and a free flu clinic is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 29, at 4:30 p.m.
Families who need help before November can call the Alzheimer’s Association’s free 24/7 Helpline at 800-272-3900. The helpline serves people living with dementia, caregivers, families and the public, with information on memory loss, local programs and care planning.
Rockaway Township is a separate municipality from Rockaway Borough in Morris County, NJ.
