Every summer, Rockaway Township turns the Park Lake Gazebo into a free outdoor stage. The Rockaway Gazebo Summer Concert Series brings local cover bands to the lake on Sunday afternoons, and families from Rockaway and across Morris County bring lawn chairs and blankets for live music by the water. This page is our permanent guide to the series. We update it each year as the Township announces new dates.
2027 season: the Township has not announced 2027 dates yet. We will post the new lineup here as soon as it is released.
Where the concerts are
The Park Lake Gazebo is at Park Lake, 8 Mount Hope Road in Rockaway Township. The series is presented by the Township of Rockaway and booked by its Recreation Department.
How the series works
- When: in 2026, concerts ran every Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m., from July 5 through August 30.
- Cost: admission and parking are free, with no tickets or advance registration.
- What to bring: seating is not provided, so bring a lawn chair or a blanket. The setting is stroller and family friendly.
- Weather: shows run weather permitting and there is no built-in rain date. The Recreation Hotline at 973-983-2853 is updated only when a concert is canceled or changed, so call before heading out on an uncertain afternoon.
The 2026 lineup
The 2026 season leaned into rock and roll, oldies and party favorites:
- July 5: The Rosewood Band, classic rock and roll (rescheduled to Sept. 13)
- July 12: 4 Man Trio, popular rock and roll
- July 19: Rave On, early rock and roll favorites
- July 26: Kings Road Band, pop and rock
- Aug. 2: 3 Day Weekend, classic and party rock
- Aug. 9: Reminisce, oldies dance band
- Aug. 16: Jersey Sound, old favorites to dance to (rescheduled to Sept. 17)
- Aug. 23: 4 Man Trio
- Aug. 30: Kings Road Band
Two makeup concerts closed the season: the Rosewood Band on Sunday, Sept. 13, from 3 to 5 p.m., and Jersey Sound on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 6 to 7:45 p.m.
