The Rockaway Township community calendar lists the hour-long program as a chance for residents to learn about Medicare Open Enrollment. The session is free and is scheduled at 19 Mount Hope Road in Rockaway Township, the address of the Township Senior Center.
Rockaway Township also offers free Medicare counseling through its State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) counselor, Thai Nguyen. The Township says it has provided SHIP Medicare counseling for more than 20 years. During open enrollment, residents can call Thai at 973-627-7200, ext. 2054, with Medicare questions at no cost.
SHIP counselors give free, confidential help on Medicare, Medicare Advantage plans, Medicare Part D, Medigap, and long-term care insurance. Counselors do not sell or endorse insurance products. The Rockaway Township Health Department can be reached at 973-983-2848 or health@rockawaytownship.org.
