The Marcella Community Club will hold its 3rd Annual First Responders Picnic and Pig Roast on Saturday, July 18, 2026, beginning at 2 p.m. at the club at 831 Green Pond Road in Rockaway Township.
The picnic celebrates and appreciates first responders, military members, and veterans who always answer the call. First responders and their families get in free, and kids are free as well. Admission for all other guests is $15 at the door.
The afternoon features an all you can eat buffet with roast pig, hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, side dishes, watermelon, s’mores, and desserts. Water and soda are free, and a cash bar will be available. Live music comes from Cyclin’ Sounds, and the event is sponsored by Brick 46 Restaurant and Bar in Rockaway.
A horseshoes and cornhole tournament runs alongside the picnic. Practice starts at 2 p.m., with a random name pull and start times set for 2:30 p.m. Entry is $20 per player, and players can sign up with Katie at the event.
Now in its third year, the picnic has become a summer tradition at the Marcella Community Club, a volunteer run organization in the Marcella section of Rockaway Township, Morris County. Residents who want to attend or learn more can reach the club at 973-983-0338 or follow the Marcella Community Club on Facebook and Instagram.
